With the generous support of longtime board member Doug Liman, the Legal Action Center hosted a special screening of the hit legal drama Suits at the Director’s Guild Theater in Manhattan on June 11th. As the executive producer of the show, Doug answered questions from the audience following the screening about his experiences working on the show since 2011. He shared that throughout his career directing and producing dozens of Hollywood blockbusters, nothing is more important to him than the work he does to support our organization, of which his father, Arthur Liman, was the founding and 25-year Chairman of the Board.
The fabulous evening was attended by other LAC Board Members and dedicated supporters, including summer associates from Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, as well as employees of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, Deloitte, and Villa Veritas Foundation. The event helped to raise funds for our important work in protecting the civil rights and liberties of some of the most vulnerable and discriminated against of our fellow Americans – those with criminal records, substance use disorders, and HIV/AIDS. Thank you to all who supported this wonderful event! It is through your contributions that LAC can continue to dismantle the systemic roots of injustice and break the cycles of mass incarceration, poverty, addiction, and racial discrimination.
