Model Letter Asking for Written Explanation for Job Denial (under Correction Law §754) and Copy of the Background Check – Under New York law, employers must give people with criminal convictions who are denied a job can a written explanation for the denial within 30 days of the request, as well as a copy of any background check run by the employer.
