Doug Liman, award-winning film director and member of the Legal Action Center’s Board of Directors, hosted a reception to benefit the Legal Action Center in celebration of the world premiere of his new film, Jumper. The party took place on February 11, 2008 at Faces & Names, just steps away from the Ziegfeld Theater in Manhattan, where the premiere happened later in the evening.

The room was brimming with Legal Action Center supporters old and new, as well as family and friends of the director, who came out to show their support. His previous films include the 2005 blockbuster Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The Bourne Identity, and the cult classic Swingers. Notable attendees included two of the film’s stars, Hayden Christensen (best known for his work as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the last two Star Wars movies) and Rachel Bilson of television’s The O.C. fame.

President/Director of the Legal Action Center, Paul N. Samuels, emceed the evening, which included a short speech from Mr. Liman, the event’s chair. Co-chairs for the event included Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bleier, Linda and Arthur Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Cherry, Mr. Brad S. Karp, Marina and Stephen Kaufman, Lehman Brothers, Trian Partners / Mr. Nelson Peltz, The Terry & Jane Semel Charitable Foundation, and Mr. Sheldon Solow.
